Google Number 1 in Search

ComScore has released the first panoramic worldwide view of online search activity. The report relates to search activity in August, and was released in October. The report provides an in depth review of the number, and location of searches worldwide. Google has come in at number one, with five times more searches than its nearest rival Yahoo!.

Google accounts for over half of the searches in August, with the most searches coming from the Asia pacific region,

Bob Ivins, executive vice president of International Markets at comScore had this to say about the results "Seeing Asian search engines like China's Baidu.com and Koreaâ€™s NHN ranked alongside Google and Yahoo! underscores the fact that search has become a truly global phenomenon. The continued development of search in international markets will undoubtedly present compelling opportunities for savvy marketers on a global scale."
